Quick update

A couple new videos will be up pretty soon.
Possibly in 720p, too, if my compy will cooperate with me.

Also, the 3DS is AMAZING.
The launch titles aren't so great, but the stuff that came with the system is enough for me, until some better games come out.

A somewhat unfortunate announcement...

The Dreamcast 2 will not be coming out this year.
My sincerest apologies to Mr. Apicary.

Seriously though, I planned on making this a long post about how even though I'd love to do the rest of the Sonic 4 videos, I just can't seem to get them done, so I'll be "postponing" them until further notice.
BUT, halfway through writing the thing I decided to wait a little longer before proclaiming the project dea- I mean... well, actually, yeah, dead.
My biggest problems at the moment are:

1. I have very little time to record anything without interruptions.

2. While I can already play most everything else perfectly, I have no idea what to do for the last zone. I can play the songs, I just can't find a way to make them sound good on the piano. I thought about maybe combining piano with LSDJ, but I don't think that'd work out too well either.

I may be able to record some more videos soon though, so maybe I'll get the rest of Splash Hill and Casino Night done.
I really don't want to cancel this.

EDIT: I forgot to say that if I DID/DO cancel it, I would still at least release mp3s of each one, since I could just hook up this little keyboard to Garage Band and record 'em.
The only reason I haven't recorded the audio for the videos like that yet, is because it's not a full length keyboard, so I'd have to record the hands separately for some of the songs (change the octave setting for the left hand when I record it), and I prefer using an actual piano anyway.

I did want to release ONLY Sonic 4 stuff until I was finished, but at this point, that probably won't happen.
I have plenty of other songs I wanted to have uploaded by now, but I didn't because I was hoping to finish Sonic 4 first.
So, you can expect the Birabuto Kingdom music from Super Mario Land, the Super Mario 64 main theme, Bubbly Clouds from Kirby's Dreamland, and a few others I won't mention yet, soon.

The obligatory January post

Because I'd feel weird if I left a month long gap in there.
I don't really have the time to write anything too long at the moment,
and I don't really feel like writing a bunch of stuff right now either, so I'll probably cheat and edit this post tomorrow.

..Or maybe in a week or two, since I seem to go by Valve time with these things quite a bit.
Hopefully not though.
:|

EDIT:
Apparently for some reason I've been following two blogs about nail polish.
No idea how that happened.

March of a proud n00b [LSDJ]

Yes, I use LSDJ.
No, I'm not very good.

Here's a song.
It's not my first LSDJ song, but it's my first original LSDJ song that I think might be good enough to actually show people.

The current situation.

Alright, so here's the deal.
Back in late February/early March, a video of someone playing through the first act of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 was leaked.
Whoever shot the video did so by aiming his camera at his tv, so of course it was rather fuzzy and there was lots of background noise.
Within just a few hours, it had spread all over the place.
I saw it on 5 different gaming sites, 4 message boards, and a ton of reposts on Youtube. And that's just from the places I usually visited. I'm sure there were tons more places it got posted I hadn't seen yet.
Anyway, I ripped it from Youtube, thinking it'd be taken down pretty soon (and it was, not even two minutes after I'd finished downloading it I refreshed the page and it had been taken down).
The next morning I looked around for it and most posts about it in the various places I'd seen were gone.
There was a lot of talk about other people who downloaded the video and were trying to get a clearer image using various video editing tools, and watching it frame by frame, trying to figure out what all would show up in the game.
While all that was going on, I ran the audio through Goldwave, using various filters trying to get better audio.
Two days later (iirc), I posted this video to Youtube.
I titled it "Pessimists beware: Icecream will own you. again." as a reference to one of the many bogus titles people had given leaked videos of Sonic Unleashed a couple years back so that Sega wouldn't find them and take it down.
I'd shown the video to a couple of friends, and posted it in the Starmen.net forums, and that was that.
Shortly afterwards, Sega released an official mp3 of the song on their website, along with more information about the game, so I changed it to just "Splash Hill Zone" I also mentioned in the description that I would eventually re-record the video, since there was a decent quality mp3 out and I wanted to correct a few mistakes.
Later there was a post about fan remixes of the title screen music on Sega's Sonic City Blognik.
It asked for people to post links to any other cool remixes anyone had found, and they might post it in the blog later.
I posted the link to my video, and the very next reply was from ArchangelUK saying that once I did re-record it, they'd feature it on the blog.
Well, a while later, someone had leaked a build of the 360 version of the game.
Someone else who had downloaded it ripped all the music from it.
I downloaded the music and started trying to learn it.
Now, I originally wanted to post all of the songs the day the game was released, but I got busy with other things, and later found out that the releases on the iPhone/iPodtouch, Wii, 360, and PS3 were all going to be on different days.
Some of them not even in the same week.
So that kind of ruined that plan.
Shortly before the game was released, I sent ArchangelUK a PM on the Sega forums, telling him what my current plan was.
Then, two weeks ago, he posted this on the blogs.
Since then I've gotten almost 2000 more views (which isn't a big deal for some people, but for me, it's pretty awesome) I've gotten a ton more comments, more subscribers, and it's been featured on Sega Addicts, Platformer Pad, Sega Media, and Sonic Retro.
Maybe a few more places, but that's all I've seen so far.

Now, within the past two weeks, I got too busy to record anything, and then got some sort of awful sickness that I'm not going to go into detail about because I'm sure none of you (if anyone's actually reading this) want to hear about it.
I'm getting over it now (I think), and I don't have too much to do in this upcoming week, so hopefully I can record the videos (I actually did already record Splash Hill Zone Acts 1,2, and 3, but I want to redo the third to make sure it's perfect and I want to go ahead and record the first boss theme) and then upload them.

There was something else I was going to say about all of this, but I don't remember what it was now.

Anyway, I guess this post can actually be condensed into a few short sentences, so let me try that.

1. I have a bunch of views and subscribers, yay! ^_^
Thanks to everyone spreading this stuff around and getting me more views.

2. Sorry it's taking so long to get these videos uploaded. Schedules, and sickness, suck.

3. Moms, keep your sneezing, coughing, vomiting, kids home when they're sick. Seriously.
>_<

Hello World!

I might or might not actually use this blog from time to time!

It's rather plain right now, maybe I'll change it, but I kinda like how it is for now.
Maybe I'll just keep it like this.
